I know some of you guys have bought something somehow online. I want to get books, and electronic parts online because they are not available locally.
So where and how? Can you please do a step by step procedure? What are the requirements (aside from MONEY)?
Thanks!

pare, normally:
1. go to the website where you'll buy the stuff
2. choose the item
3. indicate quantity
4. website will ask you shipping and payment details which is normally thru credit card
5. enter credit card number + some security procedures for the credit card
6. wait for the confirmation (normally you'll be provided with a confirmation code)
7. you'll receive confirmation thru your provided e-mail address regarding date it was shipped out and date of expected arrival...if it's normal mail, it will take about 3-4 weeks...there are options where shipping is faster but for an additional cost...
8. check your e-mail regularly as they normally would give updates
9. also check your credit card bill if you were charged already
10. once item/s is/are received, ENJOY THEM!
thanks pare!

Guys,
do you have bad experiences in buying on-line?
the saddest part here is the delivery of the items. alam nyo naman na dito sa pinas maraming nawawalang packages.

in terms of risk, risky talaga, bro...another alternative is sending the items thru a relative let's say in the USA, then they pack it and send thru Fed-Ex...normally kasi especially for CDs, pag USA lang free shipping that's why i take advantage of this...

Other options other than entering credit card # online is fill up the form provided on site and fax it. There's no hassle with either FEDEX or UPS, you're goods will be delivered to you safely.

i think both fed ex and ups deliver within 24hrs, or is it the other way around....... from here to the US within 24 hrs? and yes i heard that before, actually, there are on-line stores or auction houses like ebay where the seller will only deliver within the mainland and canada soi having a relative there and being able to use there address is a great advantage. it think this is this other option, where you dont have to disclose your credit card no., i think the names surepay, secure pay or something ata.... its a company within a company. there primary objective is that they guarantee that the person (who is a member) making the on-line purchase will pay for the item bought within him having to divulge credit card infos. but as to how to become a member thereof that i do not know. also it should be that that particular on-line store supports or allows such.

How about buying tubes online? Fragile na mahal pa! May mga success stories na ba dito? I heard si audioslave successful sa purchase nya ng tubes online. yo, got mine from thetubestore.com, an online store based in Canada and it's really costly if you add the shipping cost which is half the total price of the quartet power tubes that i ordered. the default carrier is UPS and you can track your shipment on their site. delivery is 3-4 days from the time you give a go signal by e-mail on what options of shipment do you wish your package will be shipped and that's also the time they will bill you on your credit card. since i can view my credit card account info online as well as track the shipment online, i was never really bothered on the billing and the delivery of the items. you can even see who actually received the goods and in my case, it was the security guard who was then on duty at our office building since it was a saturday and i was not there to personally acknowledge receipt of the goods. and just like a kid eagerly wanting to open a christmas present, i had a sigh of relief and a fleeting satisfaction when i saw my tubes safely tucked and wrapped in carton box filled with protective styropores. a caveat to those who might be minded to buy online using their credit card as a medium of payment: don't be surprised, however, that the exchange rate your credit card company will use in billing you is always P1.00-2.00 higher than the current exchange rate figure. in my case, when the exchange rate for the USD was P56.1 to a P1.00, theirs was P57.80. if only i was more cirscumspect and had known this kind of a rip off, i would have purchased my requirements locally. but experience is the best teacher as they say... ;D
