Atty, di ba naghahanap ka ng mat? eto ginawa ko - placemat ;D picture hosting care of image shackkulang sa kapal ng kaunti kaya gumupit ako ng folder by tracing the orig felt mat and placed it underneath voila! sakto ;D Ice- I don't want to spoil your parade, but this drawer liner is the same material used as the extreme ono/phono mat. Be forewarned, leaving vinyl on top of this material for long periods will discolor the vinyl. This 'polka dot' design CANNOT be removed. This was reported by Michael Fremer in Stereophile. I have left an LP I don't mind discarding on the top of such a material, and it developed spots! Permanent spots! It will break your heart seeing this happen to precious vinyl. I know it looks like an excellent material to use, but its composition is DEADLY to vinyl. I'm sorry if I have to break this to you, ice. Better safe than sori when it comes to rare vinyl.

i've tried that too, they're really sticky!! even my remote controls, whenever i placed them over the mat, would stick right away.
i was toying with the same idea too when iceman mentioned it to me. good thing i wasn't able to find time to DIY the mat.
many thanks stereophile for saving our precious vinyls from inevitable damage!! ;D

Balitaan mo naman ako dun sa cart/stylus from mailyn.. tried the Generic Electra kanina with a new AT headshell and tama si Masta Stereophile galing!! pero still need your input. ...as per my listening pleasure, the OEM goldring sounded more balanced vs. the AT, although they both have their own sinic characteristics...the OEM elektra's strength is the mid-bass and bass, a little thin on the highs...as for the AT, strength is on the midrange and highs...bass is thineer vs. the goldring...it now depends on the music...for detailed instruments and lush vocals, i'll go for the AT, but for a rocker and roller type of music, the OEM goldring is better...but that's me...and i'm now using naman a shure m44-7, yikes!...thanks!

The description of supes concerning the AT vs. the OEM Elektra is the same in my set-up using my Technics ttable. May I add that the Shure M44-7 gives even more BASS. This cart is really perfect for Rock, Disco, New Wave, Techno LPs. Mounting each cart on a separate headshell allows you the option of tailoring the cart to the music you want to play. You just have to take the time to re-set the ttable. Still, for just under 4T(cost of the 3 carts plus 3 AT headshells), I can't complain for the flexibility this provides my ttable. ;D
