i'm still unconvinced on the merits of buying China-made gear, including lookers sold here at high prices commissioned by US marketing firms and reviewed favorably by western publications. but i'm always open to this development, and who knows, i may buy one in the near term. anyway, those of you into these equipment - including tube-based - may want to check out an online store based in HK (would ship anywhere and could sell in big volume) that sells China-made looker "hifi" directly thru eBay at low prices. hell, it even has a beautiful-than-original clone of Marantz 7C tube preamp selling at a price lower than locally assembled tube preamps. stores.ebay.com/HOTPRODUCTSTOREi'd say, these guys are getting even with their foreign opportunist partners. imagine producing a gear that they could sell locally at $100, but priced by Yankees from $500 to $1,000 internationally. i think they now want a bite at the dollar profit.

i respect Chinese entrepreneurs a lot, especially those guys that sell us DVD players at P1.6K per unit. these are the good guys, i think - those not bought/exploited by western businesses. otherwise, they would have sold us "high-end" valve-fitted DVD gear at $1.6K each ;D.
anyway, i'm interested in some units available online just to support this HK-based (Chinese audio manufacturers outlet?) entrepreneur.

suspetsa ko ito ang outlet ng mga branded Chinese manufacturers. they may not admit this but a generic Cayin amp could be part of the items being sold from $40 to $200.
pero, tama ka. siguro bago ako bumili nito, sa local muna. i already got a Tono, which is okay, so i might pick up an AMX when i return home next week.
