Cheers ~ redman One possible cause if your unit is a Jap unit (100 volts --not the 110 volts of american versions.) is that you maybe using a 110 volt step down transformer instead of the mandatory 100 volt-step down transformer. Here, the protective lamps will be triggered when the amp produces powerfuls signals. The audio will cut out and the protective lamp warning will go blink blink. In the long term, your amp will be damaged. Solution - get a 100 volt transformer. By the way... congratz on your 9090... its a top of the line sansui.

Mabuhay to all Sansui Aficionados Im new here in this Forum so just short info about me . So im from Hamburg -Germany and since more then 40 years an Audiofreak meanwhile my old Hobby was sleeping for around 30 years cause very busy with work, family etc so since 1 year im back into the scene again and now the story with Big Sansui AU-X11 starts Lately i made the catch of the day during my Holidays in Asia i saw this nice Sansui AU-X11 at Vintageaudio Shop and i bought it for a good price Sofar so good but the machine got some issues as Protectionboard ,switchers etc -and need adjusting and cleanup --so im searching hard since sometime in Inet fo r the Schematics -- couldnt find it sofar,so somebody from the Phillipine Sansui Fans can help out and send me a good readable copy of the AU-X11 Schematics or Servicemanual if available? Ill pay for all expenses thank you in advance best regards Wally

Can we revive this thread? I want to infuse more info into my brain about these vintage gems, the sansuis! Yours truly is completely noob re: vintage delight....been using other brand not (seemingly) "well-regarded" by audiophiles.
