Hi Sir Sandawa, Salamat Sandawa Sa Sandamakmak na Sagot Sa Sanlibong Tanong. I think we have different versions of the CA1000. Mine has no III. Yours is the one featured in the Japanese nisi/jp listing. www.niji.or.jp/home/k-nisi/ca-1000-3.htmMine is the one featured in the Vintage Knob site. www.thevintageknob.org/YAMAHA/CA1000/CA1000.htmlYours is probably the advanced version. I haven't plugged both the ca1000 and the vfet 4560 yet. I'm still looking for DC Bias adjustment information before putting the units to work. regards, Foo.

lordfoo, congrats on your new finds looks like you've just gotten yourself some audio gems from the pier Thanks Sir Narayan. I can't wait to hook up the amps. The wood finish of the ca1000 matches the NS690's light brown almost yellowish wood finish. I hope the speaker and amp sound well together.

Congrats sir! Ang galing mo maghanap ng surplus gear Gusto ko din sana gawin yan kaya lang kalaban ko ang oras, pera, at masaklap sa lahat WAF Sir, paano ba magsukat ng offset? Do I measure it across the + and - terminals nung speaker connections ng amp with a multitester? Not that I think there's a need to do that with the Sansui. I'm sure oks na oks yun dahil galing kay Wanderlust. But in case I need to do it in the future, I'd like to know how to do it properly.

Naka-swerte lang talaga ako dahil you had another project in mind. Hopefully enjoy na enjoy ka din dun. Kaya nga lang di na vintage ung pinakikinggan mo ngayon

There's construction going on at our house. Yamaha NS690 and the Yamaha CA1000 Notice that the woodwork is the same. Back picture You can see that the NS690 has tri amp possibilities. The NS690's size is shown relative to the AR90. Next time i will take pictures of the 690 and the NS1000m side by side. NAKU FOO LAGOT!!! i just realized the speakers are way out of topic here.

parang studio yan, sir! pareho tayo ng home interior. ganda ng collection mo. We have an ongoing construction at home sir. Three additional rooms for kids.which I intend to fill out with a pair of speakers each room, a CDP and an integrated amp. Maybe also a tuner each. There will also be some kind of HT room upstairs. There lies the reason for my vintage audio acquisition binge lately. There will be an attic where I'll be able to store audio equipment and my thousands of Science fiction and fantasy pocketbooks.

for those scouting for vintage Sansui amps, specifically non-Japan exclusive models, here's Paul Clarke's Sansui database website, which provides a record of prices for e-Bay closed transactions: www.clarkeworks.com/Clarkeworks_Sansui.html

Sir Sandawa, I have a query. I acquired a Luxman L210. 45 watts per channel from a thrift shop and got pre-owned pair Infinity Speaker. Mukhang kulang ang tunog. Di maka drive ng husto. Should I get a pre amp? If yes ano kaya pwede dito. Thanks.

not familiar with L-210, but have owned Infinity RS-7 and RSb in the past. Infinity sucks power and generally rated at 4 ohms pushing your Luxman to clip. many lower model Jap amps were not made to go down to 4 ohms, so your problem is likely matching.
you don't need a preamp. it's either replacing your integrated amp, or if your amp has preamp out, buy a power amp - rated 50wpc for European or US made, or 100wpc for Japanese made. to be safe, ask for a trial deal, pay the trader an extra with an option to return the unit if not properly matched with your Infinity after 2 or 3 days of use.

foo, that's a Luxman 70s classic rated at 110wpc - De Paravicini era. i just checked my Japan auction access and it's still selling at an average of 25,000 yen used (brand new in US - close to $1K).

Hi Sir Sandawa, How you are doin senor sandawa? That was a very Nice article you wrote in the Businessworld. The AudioKarma world just sat up and took notice of our small corner of the audioworld because of your article. Thanks for mentioning my two VFETs!!! Talking about VFET, I just acquired a Luxman LV105 that reminds me a lot of the music output of the Sony VFETs that I have. The Luxman L100 i bought for 600 pesos turned out to be a Luxman LV100...not in the same league I would say with the TOTL L100...I got excited too early when it was offered at only 600 pesos. However, I got lucky at almost the same time. One of our fellow members decided not to get a Luxman LV105 he reserved from another member. Since I was 2nd in the reserve list, the unit went to me. I've been using the LV105 for a week now and although there are some some static noise that comes out once in a while and the balance is not working, I am happy with the unit. (Luxman amps have always delivered sweet music for me.) Though the LV105 just a tube-solidstate integreated amp hybrid, it is actually the first amp that I own with tubes in it. It feels nice to see those two tubes peeking out from a window in the amp's face. Inside the LV105... I'm using the phono stage for some new LP acquisitions and I'm just having a grand time listening. For more info on the hybrids of Luxman check out Axel's vintage knob web site and click on the ZN page. www.thevintageknob.org/LUXMAN/LV107/LV107.html#
