pero baka kasya sa HT package, i think they're getting better and better so pwedeng-pwede sa kuwarto...... i have a friend who got the HT package that came free with his LCD TV and it sounds pretty good for the bedroom.

I started with an all moden HT speaker set up. Tannoys first , then Energy.
Finally I replaced the fronts or mains with large vintage B&O bookshelves. I chose the ones with two small woofers and one tweeter. Sort of like large upright center speakers.
My ideas is/was :
1. that I don't need powerful bass in the fronts and mains. Therefore i don't need to have those 10 inch or 12 inch woofers in my fronts and rears.
2. the subwoofer will take care of the bass. Unlike tweeters and mids, the woofer sound direction is not really easy to discern. i set up the HT amplifier such that low bass is only sent to the subwoofer and not to the fronts and rears. (i have a yamaha rxv740 which allows this speaker setting.)
Why am i saying this? I think you can have a good HT speaker system using the cheaper used vintage speakers. If you can find three pairs of one model, that will be best.
This should allow you to have 2.1 until you reach 5.1 or 6.1 I understand one local afficionada had three pairs of Yamaha NS690. I've read some audio enthusiasts claiming that the best HT speaker set up should have the same speakers for rears, mains and centers.
The main difficulty with this set up will be the center which will be difficult to position below or above the TV. You'd have to consider the magnet's effect on the TV also. Then for your rears, the best position will be at ear level, again slight problem for large floorstanders like the NS690. One of these days, I will tryout an HT system with 5 large advent speakers which I already have.
finally, your receiver should be able to drive all those vintage, hard to drive speakers.
Just my opinion.

I started from 2channel floor stander so bass is already compensated, then gradually my system evolved to full 5.1-7.1, but now got separates with all B&K pre/pro and Amps....
