suggestion sirs, "NO USE OF PRIVATE TERMINOLOGIES" so everybody can understand what one is talking about. However, anybody can suggest a term which shall be included on a list that anybody can browse, so anybody can understand.

Welcome to pinoyAUDIO
This site was conceptualized to serve the rapidly growing community of people who are primarily interested in audio. Inasmuch as this is a discussion forum, it is important to lay down few ground rules on posting.
These rules are:
What can be posted:
You can post anything relevant to the world of Audio and Music. Please post your message in an appropriate forum, if it does not fit into any particular forum and has to do with music, audio or home theater, then it belongs in the General forum. If it does NOT have to do with audio, please post your message in the Off Topic forum.
You can disagree with the other members and we encourage any exchange of views on any particular topic as long as you maintain respect for each other and each other's points of view.
What can't be posted:
Let’s make this place a conducive environment to speak out our comments and opinions with minimum restraints but let’s refrain from name calling or other form of vexations or insulting our fellow members.
Internet is globally accessible and we should avoid using foul languages and profanity in the forum but you can tame down your vulgar words by using your coded messages so that others may not take offense.
Although you can change your handle or moniker at anytime, we encourage using your usual moniker from the other forums. Impersonating other person’s moniker is a ground for the deletion of your membership in this forum.
These simple ground rules will make this a better place for everyone where we can learn and share knowledge in the wonderful world of audio.
Have fun @ pinoyAUDIO

i agree with the rules - we'll keep it audio related - no profanity one additional rule if i may request: Honesty - full disclosure not necessary when posting, but when asked a direct question, members must answer truthfully tayo tayo na lang maglolokohan pa...

Test message,
Hi to all!!
Looks familiar, just different color scheme. ;D
The rules sound simple enough, like most other forums on the net.
Are we hamstrung by the same restraint as pinoydvd, like discussing pirated CDs?
Just curious, what is the mission of this forum, to distinguish it from pinoydvd (except that DVD is treated as a minor thread here)? If you visit Audioholics.com, they have a very strong mission: Truth In Audio. What's ours?
Also what's to distinguish us from pinoydiophiles.com? They discuss high end stuff.
I think if we can define this, we can have a better grasp steering this forum. Or is the site just meant to decongest pinoydvd? I pesonally think there should be something unique in us to differentiate our forum from others. Pinoydvd is the first, I think. Pinoydiophiles is next. Then the "Q" . What will make their members come to us? Like any product, how should we position this forum? Any idea? Thanks.

May i take the floor and make some personal suggestions:
"Freedom" this i think would be a good mission statement.
Freedom from what? they may ask, well, from all things concerning audio.... freedom from the brand concious market; freedom to enjoy your choosen hobby without the fear of being branded a wannabie, a cheapskate; freedom from the traditional concept of being considered an audiophile and freedom from any outside restraints (like what should you buy, what is it that you should have) to be accepted or be acceptable, there could be more....
Admittedly, most of us here are from pinoydvd, and most of us, including me have hooned their hobby there. but still one cannot shake the feeling that pinoydvd as the name suggest are for the dvd enthusiast, the HT builder. there should be a place where we could discuss more about audio, and that still feels like home (i must admit i am quite at home with pinoydvd, that is why i never joined anyother site even those audio only ones, not until now).
What differentiates us from them, the other audio sites here in the P.I., is that we are a family here not merely a community. may i add, most of the discussions, if i may be allowed to make a forecast, would center on entry to mid level set-ups, as most of us here can afford only so much. maybe a little of the high-end but still one who is just starting up to build (assemble) his own audio set-up, with very limited budget for that matter, will find this site most helpful and accomodating.......... he won't shun away nor be mocked at for being able to afford only such gears.
thank you.

very well said, wanderlust what we hope to have here is a forum with a lot of freedom.... freedom from restraint and censorship though this is not an "anything goes" discussion forum, being all discerning adults would keep us within the bounds of decency by practising self restraint at all times. ;D

Thanks. i have thought about it - and came up with what will differentiate us from the other sites: in the other sites which cater to an international membership, we have to be a little more refined in our posting. in some cases medyo formal pa... in this site - our ambience will be like in our sessions, imagine mo na relaxed ka, may hawak na gulaman at nakikipag usap sa mga katoto mo... doesnt mean na hindi kayo kailangan maging technical sa usapan, or di kayo maguusap ng seryoso pero iba ang atmosphere, relaxed. may seryosong usapan, may biruan
