definitely sir control! download na lang ng i-tunes (for mac or pc). may option to rip the songs to either mp3, aac or lossless format(apple recommended).
not so sure about audio-only from dvd-discs (you might need a third party software to do this).
rca to 3.5 plug interconnect going to your amp (it would further improve the sound kung meron kang dock instead of having to port it through the 3.5 jack of the ipod unit itself).
hope this helps.

would you buy one? kaya bang irip mga CD ko kahit di Mac gamit ko? eh audio kaya ng dvd concerts? I actually have and Ipod... I pod shuffle to be exact... the only way you can listen to mp3's audio using ipod is to use a software called i-tunes for you to be able to upload music files to it... Yung I-tunes may pang convert na iyun... mas mataas ang bitrate mas maganda kaso mas lumalaki ang file pag tinataas mo ang bitrate nung kino-convert mo...but I havent' tried ripping a DVD-audio (not DVD concerts) using I-tunes... sowee

Control - try mo naman mag rip from concert dvd ;D Pre kung lossless format mga 45 to 50 mb ang isang 3 to 4 minute track, parang 14H kbps bitrate at 44 kHz sa wav format which is of the same size. On sound quality, lossless format is somewhat comparable to the cd itself (quality wise, exact cd replica except on a different format). So basically, average of 20 songs per 1 gb, times 60, equals 1200 songs. 60 gb? Kayang punuin but more than enough for listening. ;D

Control - try mo naman mag rip from concert dvd ;D considering that the price difference between the 60gb and 30gb ipod is almost negligible, mag 60 ka na pero ang problema dun mejo malaki, its thicker than the regualr ipod coz of the bigger hitachi micro drive, i actually have two a regular ipod and an ipod mini, mas madalas ko pa gamitin yung mini kase mas handy, i got news that theyre gonna roll out ipod mini with 20gb capacity now thats gonna be really nice. yung mini kse less prone to gasgas.... another thing, u might wanna wait a bit longer coz there's rumors of an ipod video according to the websites and wall street journal rolling out this september! ngayon na yun! baka totoo yung balita hintayin mo na lang ice... as for the size one disc riped in the apple lossless format a 20 track cd will be about 500mb when ripped in to apple losless so that makes 120 cd's for the 60gb ipod approximatley IMHO if your gonna use the ipod as as source for your system bka ma dissapoint ka lang, hindi ganun kaganda yung compression technology vis a vis cd format... thats just me

thanks - mukhang ok nga na hintayin yung mini na 20GB i'm not sure but with the introduction of the nano ... baka idiscontinue na ang mini the 4GB nano can hold about 1000 songs , less if you want to store pics . it's smaller and thinner than a CD ... and it surprisingly sounds good !

saw this at audioworld: onkyo ds-a1 according to them it sounds better than the one of monster. you can connect idirectly to your preamp. did not have the chance to hear it. sayang. monitor audio i-deck eto narinig ko. nakakatuwa ang laki tumunog. i did not expect na maganda at malaki tumunog considering magaan lang and if im not mistaken plastic yung enclosure. galing!
