Just want to share this but first of all, do this at your own risk!
I have this cd disc that cannot be read anymore, maybe because of so many scratches and the read side is really dull and I think that it may also contribute to less reflections needed by the lens pick-up.
Then I remember something I read in the net a few years back that a guy used carwax or buffing compound in cleaning a worn-out cd disc.
And so daringly I did, using a buffing compound, then a carwax (I used Turtle wax) I painstakingly waxed that disc.
And so low and behold, that darn cd can now be read by my cd player! I can now hear phil collins sing again.
Well, just want to share but you decide whether you wanna do it ok?
Cheers! JojoD

Most CD scratch removers are essentialy buffing solutions. As long as can polish the read side of a CD to like-new, eliminating light scratches in the process, that's one way to restore CD readability. Sometimes taking risks has its rewards.
