Is it worth buying a player which only plays SACD? Or do you prefer playing it safe and going for the universal player?
Also does anybody know where I can get a Marantz SA8400? I was thinking of buying one and hooking it up to a musical fidelity x10v3....instead of buying the shanling sacd player....

hmmm.... as of now, the format war between dvd-audio and sacd isn't over, or is it?! these two formats are not yet widely accepted as the next format of the audio cd. titles are still limited and rarely you could see them in racks. so i guess the a universal player will do as of the moment BUT... most often dedicated sacd players are still better than universal players. i think the marantz sacd player is by far superior in terms of sacd playback. (SA-11S1)
as for the marantz 8400, i don't think any store carries one here except direct imports or gray markets. the high-end marantz line aren't carried by the local distributor but if it is, only by special orders.
hope this helps.
