Had a chance to listen to Hale's debut album (kinda late though for me to listen to this great band ). I like all the tracks in the cd. Very light but sounds right. Sounded okay in my set-up. May sense yung album. At first, i thought of burning it para may copy ako...but, kung nakakabili nga ako ng SACD, DVD-A, Mullard, Amperex at Brimar, bakit hindi ako bumili ng orig cd....nakatulong pa ako sa industrya. Especially, when the band is superb. So i bought the orig cd. I don't want to sound mushy here but i believe we should learn to appreciate our own first before foreign artists. We have several good bands out there just waiting for our support for them to bloom. With all due respect, let us discuss one OPM artist at a time here. I started with Hale.... let's discuss anything under sun about Hale.... not only their music perhaps, maybe their personal life as well, photos, gigs sked, what have you. Then, followed by another OPM artist. So on and so forth. Let us support OPM now! The industry is growing and what a great feeling to be part of it. The mod may want to merge other OPM threads here.... Thanks so much!

that's a good idea - lets buy Orig CD's from local talents i suggest though that we make one thread per album so it will be easier to peruse the thread for artist and cd feedback

Yup, ako rin, much as possible I but the original CD, mura lang naman. My collection however, is not much on the local pop scene, but more of the local classicals and music by local chorales, trios, quartets and quintets (mostly those released thru Bookmark and FAT).

While it was not indicted in the liner notes, Joseph Esmilla said that the recording was done inside a concert hall (yung PCIBank theater, I think), using a 2-mic cardoid setup located 10 ft from the instruments. Aside from Sentimyento, you should also try the other Bookmark CDs: El Alma Filipina, JAAWE Lang, Salamism of Albert Tiu, Bolipata at Pelikula, Gil Lopez Kabayao. cheers. There are

If you want, you can get them directly on-line, or visit their office in Makati. It's along Vito Cruz going to South expressway, just right after Pasong Tamo ext. You may want to check out the Mag.net cafe in Katipunan. They also carry Bookmark CDs, sometimes. But there, you can get CDs of local indie groups like WDOUJI, WAJI WARA and Lampano Alley. BTW, don't pass on Chin Chin Gutierrez's 'Uyayi" a compilation of philippine lullabys. Cheers.

There is a Bookmark at the back of my office, along Valero St., Makati, across the Valero carpark and Ministop. you are d**n right...reference cd ang Sentimyento... dinig na dinig mo ang buntong-hininga ni Joseph Esmilla while playing.... that cd is full of emotions literally on JE. Especially on Track 7 Paradis. BTW, his brother Bibi is my friend and Hi School mate in Notre Dame. Right, the cd was recorded at Franciso Santiago Hall, PCIBank Tower 1 on May 28-29, 2000.
