i have copies of those songs i got from Napster before it was shutdown five years ago. maganda naman ang kopya. i understand there are new versions of some tracks - audiophile quality - re-recorded by Bong in the US since late '90s, including Samba for Luisa, which you used to hear when you visit his website.
POSTSCRIPT:
just checked his website, pinalitan na yung introductory song "Sa Dako Pa Roon", pero clean version na rin.

Sandawa, I did a comparison of the LP and the CD... definitely did not come from the LP,unlike the vicor re-issues that came out. Bong must have kept the tape masters. (the placement of the instruments were changed on the CD). The CD is enjoyable to listen to. So even without the LP, one can settle with the CD copy. Cheers.

Cheers. yes, that's what i mean. some of the Napster copies were a lot better than the old versions, in LPs or CDs recently released by Vicor. the Samba Song and Samba for Luisa, for instance, were quite good even if these were shared at MP3 format. i suspect it was Bong himself who shared some of his songs at Napster before he thought of coming out with the CD himself, which should definitely be better quality compared with the MP3 copies. i haven't browsed his website now but a couple of years back, he has samples of his music that you could download.

Uy! Uy! meron din ako nyan... 22 solid tracks that will bring you down to memory lane particularly in the 70's...i personally like track 10 Samba Song with Norma Ramirez and Track 22 Batucada sa Calesa. Samba Song Portuguese Version is such a sweet version.
Bili-bili na!

enjoy your CDs, diego and sandawa... hey slayer, please PM me again your address so i could send the CD...thanks! Oops, I never received a copy of your CD. Anyway, I'm not really interested in it considering I have re-mastered copies of some titles in that album from years back, downloaded during the time those were available (probably offered free by Bong himself) at Napster and Audio Galaxy. Despite extraction from MP3, I'm happy with the quality of my copies compared with the re-issued CDs and the old vinyls. Thanks a lot anyway.

Got the CD copy from Diego 30 minutes ago. Thanks Jen. It confirms my belief that my previous copies were the re-mastered (re-recorded maybe) ones since there's no significant difference between most of them and those in the CD. However, my impression is that the original re-mastered "Samba for Luisa" was cleaner, more life-like. The one on the CD has too much reverb for my ears (personal taste, maybe). The Portuguese version of Samba Song is new although I think I've heard it in his website about two years ago (but not for downloading).
Just to recap, there are at least 5 songs here that are new to me.
