I got myself a Heathkit AA1515.... It says 240 watts at the back.
Both channels are working. It looks good cosmetically. I fell in love immediately with the amp's great looks. when I plugged in a pair of victor SX3 speakers... the speakers nearly clipped.
I lowered the volume... very very nice!!! I will post pictures later when i get hold of a camera.
After a disappointment over a Heathkit AR1500 reservation which did not push through...I just had to buy the AA1515 when my eyes fell on the unit on a shelf in a thrift shop in quezon city. I sure am not disappointed over the acquisition.
Can somebody post links to any info on this integrated amp?

Congrats for another vintage gem! It was likely assembled by an original Chinoy owner. The guys I know back in early '80s who are into kit assembly are mostly Chinoys, very few Malay-stock natives. As per Orion Bluebook records: Heathkit AA-1515 - sold from 1977 to 1981; 70 wpc; $300 original retail price; $70 current re-sale value. I'm quite interested in how it looks.

I've got no pictures yet sir sandawa. I am quite rushed since I have a two week training that's going to start on monday in Manila.
Anyway. I will post pictures when I am able to. My brod and I compared it with the Sansui QRX9001 using the sx3 and later the B&O Beovox. On the speaker side... the Beovox outclassed the victor sx3 on the mids and high but was in turn outclassed by the victor on the bass spectrum. I guess the SX3's bigger woofers made the difference. and the beovox tweeter mid and two small woofers.
On the amp side... the sansui simply had the better highs and mids. Of course this could be due to old capacitors on the heathkits. The heathkit and sansui produced similar bass though my old ears detect fuller bass on the sansui.
All in all the top of the line sansui Quadrosonic equipment will outperform the heathkit assuming there were no problems on the heathkit's internals.

Ang ganda! Kamukha nung Denon 1001 power amp ko. Just from its bulk, I think the 70wpc rating is conservative. Also, Heathkit, like the old Dynaco, sells at low price -- value-for-money ika nga -- despite it's high quality. Huwag mo nang pakawalan 'yan, pamana mo na lang sa anak mo, kung mahihilig sa hifi.

The Pioneer SX1080 i've been using as my main system in our sala experienced problems in one channel so I shifted to using the Heathkit aa1515.
I am very impressed with its performance specially the phono section. Very nice sounding amp.
