Did you know that in the middle of 80's before the Philippine music lovers was struck by this "CD TECHNOLOGY" there's a store on the basement of Makati Cinema Square right where "WATT HIFI" now stands a store named "DOWNBEAT" who used to rent out cd's for a meager sum of only P30.00 per 3 days with huge collection of newly realeased cd's at that time and Rene Rivo was one of the member then (u can ask him bout this).
The shop was forced to close down because of the purist who says that cd will not prosper and Vinyl will stay, Hurrah......
Isn't it amazing that back then, when everyone was into vinyl and cd's was just starting to arrive in our shore and this man has already a lot of cd collection! and for rent pa......
Pls. research who is the owner of that shop.....whoever gets the right answer gets 10 imported LP from my collection.

I started my CD collection in 87

Vinyl, the main raw material used in the manufacturing of records, is clear in color in it's raw form. Carbon black and other colors are only added for strength, appearence, and cost considerations.

That the so called "hi grade" or "virgin vinyl" are those used by Japanese and Germans in pressing their LP's making the prices of these LP's more expensive and more sought after than that of U.S. and British LP's, even in these 2 countries.
You can see-thru in a "High Grade vinyl" while aiming it high directly to a lighted bulb, not just thru the center hole but thru the vinyl itself. It is one way of checking if what you got is a virgin or hi-grade vinyl, otherwise it is just a recycle or standard materials.
Having these vinyls... you get excellent sound reproduction mostly comparable to direct mastering LP's, not easily get scratched and very very durable, deeper grooves making the tip of the stylus sits properly and steady into it so your beloved turntable extract the best these vinyls has.
If you have a Japanese or German Pressed LP's and you have the same standard pressed LP's try both and compare if you can detect any difference, for me?, i'm sure there is...... standard LP is like you're in a "big room" while a "Virgin or Hi-grade vinyl" is like you're in a "very very big room"........
