i believe the entire Sonic T-amp assembly, with some mods in wire connections, could be cramped inside the Tono preamp box even as the power supply unit could be placed on top of it. in the meantime, i'm still listening to this combination using Design Acoustics (Signet) PS-10 speakers. i have docked the Sonic T-amp on top of the Tono, fastened by Velcro, bought silver spray paint yesterday, coupled these together, Tono (valve) as preamp and Sonic T (digital) as power amp with no modification yet. no problem hooking the speaker wires to the tiny spring- loaded terminal of Sonic T-amp. i found out Monster Cable's gold pin-type connectors fit nicely in the holes. so far okay, but sound is a little bit hot for me - too open - para kang nakikinig ng low-powered vintage valve and Magnepan, maganda sa vocals mula piano hanggang percussion, kulang sa mid and lower bass. these are how the combination looks (parang nitso sa La Loma pag mali ang anggulo): top view back view front-side view on top of a Yamaha B-3 for a possible biamp system, the SS gear handling the low frequency.

an interesting topic was raised in AK today: how come Sonic T-amp has DC offsets that are far beyond the 50mV limit set for amps to sound real hifi? in may case, one measured 40/62mV and the other 74/51mV on the multitester.
Echo Wars, the forum's resident tech wiz has this response:
"The tripath, or what I know of it, still uses split supplies, and still has an offset since it is DC coupled... it still is possible for offset to occur (but the mechanisms for its generation and correction are different than an analog amplifier... perhaps there ought to be a fine adjust for the modulator to equalize the pulse widths and zero the offset).
Edit: I looked at the specs... Tripath says typical offset @ 50mV, and max offset @ 150mV."
was glad my units are within that band.

Those interested in partnering a stereo digital amp with the Tono should check this post. Note that the amp module has built-in sub-power supply (AC 13.5V & 7.5V) for peripherals.
