Mahirap pag 45 dahil pagnakalimutan mo ilagay sa 33 yung speed tapos 33 lp ang nakasalang. yikes parang kinurot sa singit yung kumakanta ;D

Assuming same everything, 45 will always sound better. That's the reason why "audiophile" recordings normally issue their releases in 45, or at least have one of their faveorite cut(s) pressed in 45. Problem of course is that you can't expect to fit an entire album in 45.

i have noticed that also... 45's sounded better, tha is why part of my collection now are about a 100 or more 45s..... the best thing about it is that 45's contains mostly the best singles of the artist.
yon nga lang after 4 runs, youll find it quite taxing already, kada kanta ba naman kailangan mong magpalit. that is roughly every 3 mins!!!

The main reason why 45s sound better is that they spin faster. There is a nerdy explanation for this, but the faster the LP spins, the less distortion. Another reason why 45s sound better is because normally, 45s contain less tracks in an LP side. Less tracks mean less playable minutes in an LP side. Less playable minutes mean grooves can be farther apart. Grooves farther apart mean grooves can have wide curves / deviations / contours. In a groove, the wider / wilder the groove contour means more dynamic sound. The wild contour can only be so much though. Too wild a contour, and you will have a track which cannot be tracked by your cartridge. If you want to see probably one of the wildest groove contours on an LP, look at Telarc's recording of the 1812 Overture. The end part of the song has real cannons exploding (unlike other 1812 recordings). Once you see up close and personal the grooves on this track, you would not anymore want your cartridge to play on it. ;D Some cartridge / arm combinations cannot track properly this very dynamic track. If ever they do, you could see the cartridge vibrate as if the cantilever would snap. ;D The extreme opposite of 45s with less grooves are those LP which are "Best Of". "Best Of" / compilation LPs contain more songs / playable minutes than usual. Because of this, the grooves are crammed into a single side. Crammed LPs have grooves that are very close to one another. This results to compressed sound. You can compare these crammed LPs to MP3s. Because it has too much information on a single LP / disc, sound quality suffers i.e. dynamics, highs and lows are retarded.

Pardon me but i think the thread should be titled single or full album, right? coz' there are 33 1/3 rpm lps that only contain a single song i.e. 12" singles, 12" remixes, promotional copies and the likes. And this also applies to the other, right?
So I guess the question should be 12" singles or full albums, right?

Think of 33rpm and 45rpm as "ep" and "sp" sa vhs respectively.
