This question may sound a bit weird (stupid even!) when you play a record do you always have to start at the beginning of the record? say i have a record and i'd like to listen to a track in the middle is it ok that i start from there?

There's no problem with cueing in the stylus to the particular track of choice. Some audiophiles start at the edge because they don't want to cause aditional 'groove damage' when dropping the stylus into other than the 'lead-in/spacer' grooves. I generally play the whole side of the LP to make it worth the effort of cleaning the LP w/ a record cleaner and plopping down the LP on the platter.

I don't even find it weird or stupid since it's just but natural for anyone of us to cue on a particular particular track. In fact we even get to do such on cds, right?

How convenient it is to use a linear, programmable turntable. Hurrah to Technics SL-6. he he he ;D ;D ;D losi_phile
