I own a pair of Classic ProAc Tablettes(circa 1985)...well, I used to own the pair till my dad liked their sound so much that I ended passing them to him. He is happily listening to them being driven by a NAD320BEE(also mine). What I like with ProAcs is their pin-point imaging and their large, rich sound which you can't believe is coming from a small box. Anyone own any of the newer models? How are they? I miss my ProAcs...

They have a 'bigger' voice and likewise have crisp pin-point imaging. I may be wrong, but the tablettes are easier to drive. I like to use these monitors when evaluating gear. They are neutral/uncolored and revealing.

If it was I in the market for a pair of bookshelf spkrs, I'd audition both in my room with my gears and see w/c sonic signature you prefer. If that's not possible, I'd at least bring my amp and spkr wires to the showroom and audition the spkrs there. Bring also familiar CDs so you can see how the speaker handles them.

dco- those 1sc's are very nice speakers. I'm currently using a pair of ProAc Reference 8 Signature tablettes. I too am very happy with them. Crisp imaging w/ the disappearing act.

I have a pair of ML Aerius i's w/c is a full range hybrid floorstand spkr. I hook it up when I need a bigger/more expansive soundstage. Otherwise, for small group pieces, I use the ProAcs.
