i usually use it for cleaning pots and pcb, ok naman! ;D hala ka! very risky yan sir ;D ;D ;D, lacquer can damage the board's solder mask and protective sleeve. i did tried that before kasi kaya nasubukan ko na makasira. ;D ;D ;D under controlled circumstances pwede siguro pero ingat lang baka magaya sa VU meter cover nung amp ni boss akyat yun mga plastic parts nun amp!

KoYA Andy is just joking ha, don't try that to your ST70 if you don't have money to have it repaired in case you melt the board or damage the components. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I use a mixture of Ethylene Glycol, Meathanol, 85% IPA, Kerosene, Unleaded Gasoline, 250cps Silicone Emulsion, and other oil-based derivatives. Not for the faint-hearted though. i feel like my kenwood is a space rocket with all those solvents being used! hindi kaya magka-cancer yung amp ko? ;D i can't wait to see my baby all clean and refreshed. buti pa kenwood ko nakakapagspa. well it is 15 years old so i guess it deserves some pampering. thanks jojo i'm sure you did a great job restoring it. ala vicky belo ba? ;D

pioneer st. in mandaluyong near shaw blvd. thank you iceman for suggesting somewhere close to where i work nagusap na kami ni jojo. sa sm north na lang kami magkikita. i will bring the ransom money and he will return my baby. The pleasure was all mine, your amp sounds great even before the spa and "massage"... we'll just make it better. Ingat ako sa turnover, mahirap na at baka ma-intercept tayo ng Task Force Gulaman! Btw, Kenwood did a good job at the bias point of the output transistor by using two emitter resistors in a single package which translates to better bias thermal tracking. In other words, I ended up adjusting for 40mA while the original was just 30mA which is also acceptable. Tanggal na oscillation (maluwag lang yun isang ribbon wire), and thank's to my friends scope at wala na ako makita na crossover distortion. Konting casual testing na lang and it's all yours again.

I got another amp that needs some cleaning and tweaking, it's a Diatone surplus amp with a 65W per channel output power. After taking a bath and feeling refreshed... ;D ;D

The easy thing about this amp is that it has provisions for test points on the pc board. ;D

The only cosmetics this amp needs is an installation of speaker binding points to replace the somewhat rusted and sometimes intolerable speaker terminals, also to allow connections with banana plugs. The RCA jacks were also replaced with gold plated teflon insulated ones. These upgrades were more on the "function" side rather than "form".

The power transformer got a luscious bath of rich and soothing electrical insulating enamel for a renewed protection against the elements.
